Last RPM show for 2009 is filled to the brim

This week’s episode of the RPM motoring show on SuperSport is the last of the year – although we do have a highlights package which will be broadcast during December, until the show returns in January.

This week’s programme kicks off with a road test of the recently facelifted Renault Clio 1.6 Dynamique – an adept compact that links loads of standard kit to swift and competent dynamics.

Next, we take a first drive in the latest Subaru Legacy – a medium-sized estate that wants to take on the likes of the VW Passat, Honda Accord and Mazda6. We drive the range-topping 2,5-litre version.

If in-your-face-motoring is your preference, it doesn’t get much bolder than the BMW X6. And now, it’s offered with the same twin-turbo V8 as the 750i. We put the king of the X6 range through its paces.

Finally, we track-test the Motorite Toyota RunX that earned Evan Hutchison and Elvéne Coetzee the Class A7 rally championship – and find out that it’s a real little stormer.

RPM’s premiere episode is still broadcast on Wednesday night at 20h30 on SuperSport 2. We repeat the show at 07h30 on MNET and SuperSport 2. There are also more than 10 repeats if you miss the first few transmissions. Additional, late-schedule repeats can also be expected. And don’t forget to look out for the RPM 10 Best Of during December – only on SuperSport!

Here at RPM, we’ve been watching the rising fortunes of Kia Motors with interest. The Korean vehicle maker was initially stuck with ordinary, but well-priced vehicles, yet managed to create a strong and appreciative following.
